Coffees for Change: Sharing the Wealth!

With each purchase of our fair trade coffees in our Coffees for Change Signature Blend Series, Higher Grounds will donate a portion of the proceeds to worthy initiatives including the promotion of organic agriculture, education about economic justice, protection of bird habitat and indigenous rights and the construction of potable water systems!
Here is a sampling of the projects your purchases help to fund:
Auburn Hills Rotary Service Club
The Auburn Hills, MI Rotary Club lives by the motto "Service Above Self". They fund a variety of projects including those related to alleviating hunger, promoting education, providing potable water and much more.
Black Swamp Bird Observatory
An independent non-profit organization devoted to wildlife research, conservation, and educational programs for the public. The Observatory's objectives are to develop and promote sound stewardship of avian and other wildlife resources through research and education.
Brewing Hope
A fair trade and organic education group made up of Ann Arbor, Michigan community members, University of Michigan students and faculty, and small businesses working to create a new dynamic of organic coffee trade that empowers farmers and consumers to collaborate rather than to compete. Chiapas Water Project

CRS Fair Trade Fund
With every purchase of the Catholic Relief Services CRS Nicaraguan Blend, Higher Grounds is donating proceeds to the CRS Fair Trade Fund – to raise funds for development grants for emerging fair trade coffee and artisan cooperatives. To learn more visit the CRS page.
Oromia Photo Project
In collaboration with Oromia Coffee Farmers Grower Union and Go NGO Go, Higher Grounds is donating funds through the sale of every bag of Ethiopian organic coffee sold to a fair trade fund in Sidamo, Ethiopia used for the construction of a community directed school, water system, and clinic. Organic Consumers Association
A non-profit public interest organization campaigning for health, justice, and sustainability. The OCA deals with crucial issues of food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children's health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, environmental sustainability and other key topics.
