Maya Vinic Cooperative: Approximately 500 farming families from the (mostly Tzotzil) Mayan highlands of Chiapas, Mexico.

Altitude/Coffee Species:

4,000 - 5,500 feet/Arabica varieties of Caturra, Mundo Novo, Typica.

Notes of interest:

Maya Vinic was formed as a non-violent, solution-oriented response to the 1997 Acteal massacre in which 46 people -- mostly women, children and elders -- were assasinated as they fasted and prayed for peace.
