Fundraising participants are earning cash for their program work by selling Higher Grounds fair trade coffees at their Holiday bazaars, church meetings, school functions and other events. The Trade for a Change program is a convenient way for your organization to earn money by offering your members, students, teachers and associates premium fair trade, organic, and shade grown coffee.

As grant funding and private donations become more and more difficult to access, our goal is to help your organization develop a program to generate a new revenue stream. And there are other benefits to the program:

1. The farmers that grow the coffee are rewarded for every pound you sell because this equates to increased fair trade sales for them.
2. By enrolling in the Trade for a Change program, you help Higher Grounds Trading Co. continue as a sustainable, viable business. In effect, you are supporting an alternative business model that is working to paying dignified wages without lining the pockets of any one person in the supply chain. Profits are donated to the coffee farmers and to projects promoting systemic change in our country.
3. Finally, you are benefiting your school, church, or organization. Through the Trade for a Change program, you will earn money for your organization, church or school. Even more, you’ll be offering your members and associates fair trade, organic and shade grown coffees at a low-price - something you can feel good about.

How does the Trade for a Change program work?

These are just a few ways we can work with your organization to help you raise funds:

1. Traditional Fundraiser: We’ll create an order form with a price you establish to distribute to your members, students, family and friends; collect the forms and send us a compiled order; we’ll roast and ship you the coffee within a week; you collect the money and send us the wholesale price; keep the difference for your organization.
2. Buy and Resell – you purchase fair trade coffee at wholesale price and sell, auction, raffle, at your school festival, church bazaar, or other event. Your organization keeps the profits.
3. Help us spread the word! For any stores, restaurants, schools, churches, etc. that create an account with us because of your efforts, you receive a cash bonus for the sale!
